NetDocuments integration
The NetDocuments integration connects your firm’s NetDocuments account to Parachute. Once it’s on, you can import documents from your cabinets into Parachute, attach them in AI chat, and save finished documents back to NetDocuments - without leaving the app.
- Import documents - pick files from your NetDocuments cabinets and bring them into a matter, your knowledge base, or your precedents
- Attach in chat - add a NetDocuments file to a conversation so the AI can read and work with it
- Use in tabular review - pull documents straight from NetDocuments into a review
- Save documents back - export a document you’ve worked on in Parachute to NetDocuments as DOCX
NetDocuments is enabled per firm by an organisation admin. There’s no separate sign-in - turning it on lets your team open the NetDocuments picker, which authenticates against your existing NetDocuments session.
- Log in to your Parachute account at app.goparachute.ai
- Navigate to Firm settings > Integrations
- Find NetDocuments and click Connect
- Confirm in the dialog
Once enabled, NetDocuments appears as an option wherever you import or save documents in Parachute. To turn it off, return to the same screen and use the disable (trash) icon.
Only organisation admins can enable or disable NetDocuments.
You can import from NetDocuments anywhere Parachute lets you add a document:
- a matter’s documents tab
- your knowledge base
- your precedents
- the + menu in chat
- the document picker in a tabular review
To import:
- Open the upload or + menu in any of the surfaces above
- Select NetDocuments
- Sign in to NetDocuments if prompted, then browse or search your cabinets
- Choose one or more documents and confirm
Imported files are downloaded and stored in Parachute. They behave like manually uploaded files - they’re chunked, embedded, and available for AI search and retrieval. Parachute tracks which files came from NetDocuments, so importing the same document twice won’t create a duplicate.
When you’ve drafted or reviewed a document in Parachute, you can send it back to NetDocuments instead of downloading it.
- Open the document in the thread or editor view
- Click the download/export button
- Select Save to NetDocuments
- Choose the cabinet and location, then confirm
The document is exported as DOCX and saved to your chosen location in NetDocuments.
NetDocuments is hosted in several regions. Parachute connects to your firm’s region so documents are read from and written to the right account. Australian firms are served from the Australian region by default. If your account lives in another region, an admin can set this when enabling the integration.
- NetDocuments is enabled at the firm level for all members; per-user connections are not supported
- Documents saved back to NetDocuments are exported as DOCX only
- There’s no automatic folder sync - documents are imported when you pick them, not kept in sync afterwards
- The AI reads files with a token budget per request. For large documents, it may read a portion and offer to search for specific sections
- Knowledge base - learn how to build and manage your knowledge base
- Exporting documents - other ways to export documents from Parachute
- Matters - organise related work into matters
