AI modes

Parachute offers three AI modes that let you control the depth and capability of AI responses. Each mode is optimised for different types of work, from quick research to complex legal analysis.

Best for light review, simple drafting, and quick research tasks. Paralegal mode is fast and uses 1 credit per interaction.

Use this when you need:

  • Quick answers to straightforward legal questions
  • Simple document summaries
  • Light drafting of routine documents
  • Fast research lookups

Best for advanced review, detailed drafting, and in-depth research. Lawyer mode provides more thorough analysis and uses 3 credits per interaction.

Use this when you need:

  • Detailed contract review with risk identification
  • Comprehensive document drafting with nuanced legal language
  • Multi-jurisdictional legal analysis
  • Thorough research with citations and reasoning

Best for complex reasoning, advanced research, and comprehensive drafting. Senior Associate is the most capable mode and uses 15 credits per interaction.

Use this when you need:

  • Complex multi-party contract analysis
  • Sophisticated legal strategy and reasoning
  • Comprehensive legal assessments across multiple frameworks
  • High-stakes document drafting requiring maximum accuracy

Senior Associate mode may require a specific plan entitlement after your trial period. See billing and plans for details.

You can choose your AI mode in several places:

  • Home page - select a mode before starting a new conversation
  • Create thread - choose when creating a new thread
  • Thread view - switch modes during an active conversation
  • Create document - select when generating a new document

If you’re not sure which mode to use, select Auto. Parachute will automatically choose the most appropriate mode based on the complexity of your request.
